Who should look after your LED screens? The honest comparison

The manufacturer's cloud monitoring, an OEM service contract, a freelance technician: every existing solution answers part of the problem. Here is what each really does when a screen fails — and the box nobody filled.

Quick answerNo solution on the market offers guided, multi-brand diagnosis, in your language, available 24/7. Cloud monitoring alerts you that a failure exists without saying how to fix it; the OEM contract only covers its own brand; the freelancer bills by the day plus travel. LED Doctor fills that box: your team's level-2 LED technician, available 24/7, without the salary.

Cloud monitoring: essential, but it stops at the alert

VNNOX Care, NovaStar's cloud monitoring, does its job well: it watches connected screens and raises alarms — temperature, voltage, mute card. For a NovaStar fleet it is an excellent alerting system, sold as an annual licence through resellers.

But an alert is not a repair: knowing a card stopped answering at 2 a.m. says neither why, nor what to do, nor in what order. And it only covers the NovaStar ecosystem.

That is why we combine rather than oppose them: the Serenity plan will integrate NovaStar VNNOX monitoring in December 2026 — the alert triggers the diagnosis, Lédia guides the rest.

The OEM contract: solid, within its brand's borders

A service contract like Barco EssentialCare brings real guarantees — parts, SLAs, factory expertise — on the brand's own hardware, on quotation.

Its limit is structural: it covers the manufacturer's fleet, not your real installation, which often mixes a processor from one brand, panels from another and a third-party control room. And between two brands, each support desk points at the other.

If your fleet is entirely single-brand and under contract, keep it: LED Doctor then adds the nights, the weekends, and everything that is not that brand.

The freelancer: precious hands, expensive questions

The independent technician remains irreplaceable for hands-on work: swapping a card, recabling, recalibrating. Billed by the day plus travel, they are worth it when there is genuinely something to do on site.

Far less so for answering « why is half my wall black? » on a Sunday — the question that, in 20 to 40% of cases, needed no trip at all.

Many freelancers actually use LED Doctor as a second brain: the Solo plan at €59/month gives them a permanent level 2, every brand covered.

The empty box LED Doctor fills

Look across the table: nobody offers guided multi-brand diagnosis, in your language, 24/7, at subscription pricing. That is precisely LED Doctor's box.

Our positioning fits in one sentence: your team's level-2 LED technician, available 24/7, without the salary. It replaces neither your cloud monitoring, nor your OEM contract, nor your technicians — it makes them all more effective by owning the diagnosis, night and day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep VNNOX Care and add LED Doctor?

Yes — recommended for a NovaStar fleet: monitoring detects, Lédia diagnoses and guides. The Serenity plan will integrate VNNOX monitoring in December 2026 to close the loop.

Is LED Doctor tied to a manufacturer?

LED Doctor is published by Visuall Group, French LED display experts (Pixelight brand) and an official NovaStar distributor. But the service covers every brand and ecosystem: most screens we troubleshoot are not ours.

What about the brands named on this page?

VNNOX Care and Barco EssentialCare are serious services, named here for factual comparison. Trademarks belong to their respective owners; check their current offers on their sites.

What if I already have a maintenance provider under contract?

Keep them: they do the physical work and the preventive visits. LED Doctor takes the immediate 24/7 diagnoses and hands them complete files — several providers actually equip their own teams with our Team and Fleet plans.
